Adding Users

If you want family members or roommates to be able to view camera feeds and control devices, you will need to add them to your household in the Google Home app.

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Tap Settings (the gear icon) on the main dashboard.
3. Tap Household (or Add > Invite home member).
4. Tap Invite person and enter their name or email address.
5. Review what is shared with them, then tap Next and Save.

Note: The person you invite will receive an email. They must download the Google Home app and log in with their own Google account to accept the invitation and view the cameras.

Viewing Devices

The Google Home app acts as the central command center for all your Nest cameras, doorbells, and smart home devices.

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. You will land on the Favorites or Devices tab. This screen shows a grid of all your connected devices organized by room.
3. For cameras and doorbells, simply tap the device's tile to instantly pull up the Live View and timeline history.
4. To access a quick view of all your cameras at once, tap the Cameras shortcut pill at the top of the main dashboard.

Adding Devices

Expanding your security system with a new Nest Cam, Nest Doorbell, or sensor is a quick and guided process.

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Tap the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the + Add button in the bottom right corner.
4. Select Google Nest or partner device.
5. Choose the home you want to add the device to, and the app will begin scanning for nearby devices. If prompted, scan the QR code located on the back of the device or its packaging, and follow the on-screen prompts to connect it to your Wi-Fi.

Updating Payment Methods

Because your Nest subscription is tied to your Google account, you cannot update your credit card details directly inside the Google Home app. You must use a web browser.

1. Open a web browser on your phone or computer and go to store.google.com/subscriptions.
2. Log in with the exact Google account you use for your Google Home app.
3. Locate your active Nest Aware (or Google Home Premium) subscription.
4. Click Change payment method.
5. Select an existing saved card, or follow the prompts to add a new credit or debit card, and click Submit.

Subscriptions

To get the most out of your Nest cameras and doorbells—like saving recorded video clips and getting advanced alerts—you need a Nest Aware subscription. Without it, you can only view live video and up to 3 hours of recent event history.

Subscribing:

1. Go to store.google.com/subscriptions on a web browser.
2. Log in with your Google account.
3. Select Subscribe to Nest Aware and choose your preferred tier and billing cycle (monthly or annually).

Current Plan Features: Google currently offers two main tiers that cover all the Nest cameras, doorbells, and displays in your home for one flat rate:

• Nest Aware: Includes 30 days of event-based video history (it records only when it detects motion or sound) and familiar face alerts.
• Nest Aware Plus: Includes 60 days of event-based video history, plus 10 days of 24/7 continuous video history (continuous recording requires the camera to be plugged into a power outlet, not running on battery).
