Introduction
If YouTube TV is not loading properly, showing a black screen, or acting glitchy, a quick app reset can often fix the issue.
Follow the steps below to fully close and reopen the app:
Step 1: Open the App Switcher
On your Apple TV remote:
- Press the TV (Home) button twice quickly
This will show all apps currently open in the background.
Step 2: Find YouTube TV
- Swipe left or right on the touchpad (or clickpad)
- Locate the YouTube TV app
Step 3: Close the App
- Once YouTube TV is selected, swipe up on the touchpad
This will fully close the app (not just minimize it).
Step 4: Reopen YouTube TV
- Press the Back/Menu button to return to the Home screen
- Open the YouTube TV app again
Why This Helps
Closing the app clears temporary glitches and refreshes the connection, which can resolve:
- Black or blank screens
- Freezing or buffering
- App not loading properly
